Anna Marcel de Hermanas now lives in Black Mountain, NC after retiring from 30 years as a social worker and counselor in Ohio.  Attending a “Witnessing Whiteness” series at the library her first winter here, she then joined a racial justice book group, attended REI, white caucus, and Building Bridges, and eventually, Act-Out Equity sessions. She serves on the board of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Swannanoa Valley, the Martin Luther King Memorial Corp of the Swannanoa Valley, and is a member of WNC Faith Communities Organizing for Sanctuary. She and her spouse, Rhea, have 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
